Over the past three seasons, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has dealt with injuries, limiting him to 25 of 41 possible games. Despite his absences, Taylor remains one of the NFL’s top ground threats when healthy.
The Colts have a crucial Week 8 road matchup against the Houston Texans, with a win putting them atop the AFC South. Fortunately for Indianapolis, Taylor, who has been managing an ankle injury, practiced fully, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
In four games this season, Taylor has recorded 349 rushing yards and four touchdowns, ranking fifth in the league with 87.3 rushing yards per game.
The Colts also received positive injury updates with wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs returning to practice after missing the previous day.
Even without Taylor in the last three games, the Colts have secured back-to-back wins over the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins. However, with the depth across the AFC, the Colts must capitalize on winnable games to keep their playoff hopes alive and contend for a division title.
After facing the Texans, Indianapolis has two more challenging games against the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills, who recently bolstered their offense by acquiring Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper.
