The Las Vegas Raiders’ offense is set to undergo notable changes following their bye week. In addition to having a new play-caller in Scott Turner, the team is welcoming back tight end Michael Mayer.
Mayer, a former second-round pick, has not played since Week 3 due to personal reasons but recently rejoined the team. The Raiders have activated him from the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list, signaling his readiness to play in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.
To make room for Mayer, the Raiders released wide receiver Alex Bachman. This marks a tough break for Bachman, who recently earned a spot on an active roster for the first time after years on practice squads.
In six appearances this season, Bachman recorded three catches for 31 yards, a modest contribution. However, if he clears waivers, the Raiders could re-sign him to their practice squad, giving him another opportunity to make an impact later in the season.
