Although the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight at AT&T Stadium didn’t provide much action in the ring, there was drama outside involving former Dallas Cowboys player Adam “Pacman” Jones. Following the event, Jones was arrested at a local Arlington hotel. According to TMZ, Jones had attended the fight with comedian Tom Segura. While the exact details of the arrest remain unclear, reports suggest charges of “public intoxication, resisting arrest, evading arrest, and assault on a police officer.”
Jones’ representative told TMZ Sports that the former NFL star “adamantly denies the allegations” and looks forward to clearing his name. The spokesperson added, “Like many others in Dallas, Pac was in town for the fight, enjoying himself and spending time with fans. He was returning to his hotel to unwind and wasn’t looking for trouble.”
This isn’t Jones’ first brush with controversy. Throughout his NFL career, he faced multiple suspensions for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. Notably, in 2007, while with the Cincinnati Bengals, Jones was suspended for a year after being implicated in a nightclub brawl that led to a shooting. In 2008, during his tenure with the Cowboys, Jones was involved in a fight with a security guard at a Dallas hotel, causing property damage, though no charges were filed.
Regarding his latest incident, reports from The Athletic indicate that just after 1 a.m., Jones was involved in a fight at the bar area of the “Live! by Loews” hotel near AT&T Stadium. Hotel security alerted an off-duty Arlington police officer, who arrived to find the parties separated. However, Jones reportedly got into another altercation and resisted attempts to be handcuffed.
Jones joined the Cowboys in 2008, with owner Jerry Jones calling him the team’s “missing link.” However, his tenure with Dallas didn’t pan out as the team finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs.
