The New York Giants have officially moved on from the Daniel Jones era, but what’s next for the team at quarterback? According to one insider, the Giants could sign former 11th-overall pick Justin Fields as a bridge QB while preparing for a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to eventually take over.

Giants Predicted to Cut 2023 Draft Pick After One NFL Season

This bold projection comes from Dan Duggan of The Athletic, who outlined the plan and suggested that Jones could end up as a backup for the Denver Broncos.

“Here’s my super early prediction for how the Giants’ QB situation unfolds over the next six months: Justin Fields is signed as the bridge QB, they draft a QB in the top 10 (too early to predict who), and Daniel Jones lands in Denver as Bo Nix’s backup,” Duggan wrote, adding, “This is assuming Schoen and Daboll are back.”

That assumption is significant. Duggan’s scenario relies on general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll returning next season, a possibility reinforced by team president John Mara, who has hinted the duo will stay. However, Schoen and Daboll played key roles in giving Jones a massive contract in 2023 and have overseen an underwhelming 8-19 record since then.
