The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed defensive end Derek Rivers to the practice squad, filling a vacant spot after former edge rusher Titus Leo was signed to the New England Patriots’ active roster.

A third-round pick by the New England Patriots in the 2017 NFL Draft, the 6’5″, 250-pound pass rusher has played for the Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, and Houston Texans during his eight-year professional career.

 

 

Over 24 career games, including one start, Rivers has recorded 3.5 sacks, 16 tackles (11 solo), 5 tackles for loss, and 7 quarterback hits. After joining the Colts’ practice squad in December 2022, he has alternated between active and reserve roles but officially rejoined the team on Tuesday.
