SEATTLE — With Jalen Thompson out for a second straight game, the Cardinals are turning to a familiar face to fill his spot against the Seahawks on Sunday.
Veteran safety Andre Chachere was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday, with rookie Rabbit Taylor-Demerson expected to start in Thompson’s place for a second straight outing.
Chachere played all 17 games for the Cardinals in 2023 and started five games before he was released at the end of the preseason in September. His experience in the defense helped Chachere play right away given he was just signed on Monday.
“He’s actually super smart,” coach Jonathan Gannon said. “He can play a couple of different roles.”
The big questions for Sunday are still to be determined: Whether the Cardinals make active right tackle Jonah Williams or defensive lineman Darius Robinson. That will be official 90 minutes before the 2:25 p.m. (Arizona time) kickoff on Sunday, when the inactives are announced.
