A Kentucky Wildcats defensive back is facing legal trouble after safety Jordan Lovett was arrested this week in Nelson County.
According to Jon Hale of The Herald-Leader, Lovett was caught driving at 120 MPH and has been charged with speeding over 26 mph above the limit, reckless driving, and failure to show an insurance card. Additionally, he faces a possession of marijuana charge.
Per Hale’s report, a spokesperson from the University of Kentucky stated the football team will address the matter internally.
Lovett, a Radcliff native, is expected to play a significant role in Kentucky’s secondary this coming season. Last year, he recorded 63 tackles and two interceptions for the Wildcats.
In another incident, Hale reports that wide receiver Hardley Gilmore, who recently committed to Nebraska, was charged with misdemeanor assault on December 7th. He allegedly punched someone in the face at a storage unit in downtown Lexington.
This news comes just one day after Gilmore made his commitment to the Cornhuskers.
