The Las Vegas Raiders are in the midst of a six-game losing streak, with no relief in sight as their schedule remains challenging.
The team has experimented with various adjustments, including multiple quarterback changes and tweaks to the offensive staff, but none have sparked a turnaround. While head coach Antonio Pierce might be fighting to secure his position, winning games could hurt the team’s chances of landing a top draft pick. Regardless, Pierce stated last week, ahead of the Raiders’ Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins, that quarterback Gardner Minshew gives the team the best chance to win.
Despite this confidence, it’s evident that Minshew hasn’t delivered as hoped. However, Pierce reiterated his commitment to giving Minshew a fair shot and announced on Monday that he would start against the Denver Broncos this Sunday. According to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, rookie Aidan O’Connell remains on injured reserve and cannot return until the following week.
Minshew has struggled with ball security this season, throwing for over 1,700 yards with eight touchdowns and nine interceptions, while recording a QBR of 39.1.
