The Boston Celtics have been playing like the top team in the NBA this season, continuing their strong form from last year as defending champions. However, to stay competitive and aim for another title, they need to strengthen their roster, particularly by adding depth. While the core of the team is solid, more size and proven veterans would be beneficial.
In a proposed multi-team trade involving the Denver Nuggets and Charlotte Hornets, the Celtics would acquire center DeAndre Jordan and shooting guard Seth Curry.
The trade would see the Celtics sending center Nick Richards and a 2026 second-round pick to the Nuggets, while the Hornets would receive guard Jaden Springer, forward Zeke Nnaji, and a 2025 first-round pick from Denver.
Jordan would provide additional size and veteran experience off the bench. Though no longer the player he once was, Jordan is averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this season, offering depth behind the Celtics’ big men in case of injuries.
Curry, known for his three-point shooting, would add shooting prowess to Boston’s deep rotation. He’s averaging 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.5 steals per game this season, and his ability to stretch the floor would enhance the Celtics’ offense.
While the trade isn’t flashy, it would give Boston some added insurance and depth for a playoff run, helping to keep their championship ambitions alive by strengthening the bench.
