The Patriots experienced a setback during Wednesday’s practice as a key wide receiver had limited participation. DeMario Douglas, dealing with a new ankle injury, was one of 13 players listed as limited on the team’s initial injury report for the week. Douglas led the team in receiving yards last Sunday, recording 62 yards on five catches during their lopsided loss to the Dolphins.
Veteran safety Jabrill Peppers was also listed as limited with a knee injury, despite missing the last seven weeks. Peppers, recently removed from the Commissioner Exempt List after facing legal troubles, returned to the injury report.
On a brighter note, cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who was previously dealing with a hip issue, participated fully in practice. Defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy also returned to the field after missing last week with a neck injury.
